The Sacrament of Forgiveness

Understanding sin and the difference between serious and less serious sin are crucial concepts for the reception of the sacrament of Reconciliation. For this reason, the church leaves the decision of readiness in the hands of the parents, but instruction is provided at St. Jude.

  • Help prepare your child for First Reconciliation by doing the "At Home" Study Program given at the meeting. (The “At home” activities come from the book, The Gift of Reconciliation, published by RCL Benziger).

Children must:

  • Be Baptized.
  • Have attended RE in first grade or year one sacrament preparation class.
